A free ride can be secured three ways:

The i-Ride Sarasota service area will include the downtown area and Rosemary District with the following travel boundaries:

  • South: Mound Street
  • West: The Bayfront
  • East: School Avenue

“This is the day we’ve been waiting for,” said Mark Lyons, Parking General Manager. “We’re connecting people and places. We’re encouraging people to leave their cars behind and catch a free environmentally-friendly i-Ride. With the popularity of on-demand ride sharing services, we expect our free i-Ride Sarasota service will be popular and will lessen some of the traffic congestion we experience during peak periods.”

Gotcha (Green Operated Transit Carrying Humanity Around) Ride is an eco-friendly business with a focus on sustainability. A fleet of of seven low speed electric vehicles will operate throughout the i-Ride district.

In February, the City Commission unanimously approved funding for a 2-year pilot program with Gotcha Ride. The goal is for the program to pay for itself through advertising displayed on the vehicles.

The first local i-Ride Sarasota sponsor is CitySide, a new 228-unit apartment community in the Rosemary District. Advertisements for the new apartment community will be wrapped on the exterior of the i-Ride Sarasota vehicles.

“We are excited to bring our transportation solutions to a beautiful city like Sarasota,” said Gotcha Media Holdings CEO Sean Flood, a Tampa native. “Our experience in other densely-populated communities with parking and transportation challenges is a perfect fit. We look forward to making a positive impact on residents, businesses and visitors.”
